The Wake Speaks Speaking Center Offers a Variety of 30 Minute Consultations
Presentation Practice
This consultation is for discussing and/or practicing presentations. In most practice consultations, students present their speech, after which the consultant provides feedback. Students can work with a consultant at any stage of their presentation, whether the speech is complete or not.

Video Review
This consultation is to review and discuss a recorded video of the student's presentation. Students can either come to the appointment with a pre-recorded video or have a consultant film them in the Speaking Center.

Brainstorming Session
This appointment is for students who are in the beginning stages of the speech planning process. This consultation is helpful for students who might need help narrowing down their topic ideas, organizing their speech, or getting feedback on their outline.

Workshops
Wake Speaks hosts a variety of workshops throughout the year. Most recently, our consultants and invited faculty discussed how to turn papers into presentations and how to engage with an audience through visual aids, language, hooks, and gestures.
