Hi everyone! My name is Grace Powell, and I am currently a sophomore from Atlanta, Georgia. Right now, I am an intended Philosophy major! On campus, I am involved in Student to Student Ministry, Kappa Delta, and Club Swimming. Off campus, I love to travel, play with my dogs, and take pictures. So excited for this semester and feel free to reach out if you ever have any questions.

Marie Anderson is a senior from Des Moines, Iowa. She is majoring in Communication and minoring in Entrepreneurship and Psychology. Marie has been involved with the Speaking Center since Fall 2019 when she spoke at Wake Speaks, while taking the public speaking course. A fun fact about Marie is that she loves to sing in the Demon Divas and scuba dive.

Hannah Hill. I am a junior at Wake Forest originally from Clayton, North Carolina. I am a Communication major with minors in Anthropology and Health Policy & Administration. This is my second year working in the Speaking Center and I am so excited to get to know all the students and help them refine their public speaking skills.

Annie Prince is a junior Communication major with minors in Psychology and Schools, Education, & Society. She is from Atlanta, GA and when she is not studying, you can find her cheering on the Atlanta sports teams and exploring Winston with friends.

Hi everyone! I am Ashley Grigg and I am from New York City. I am a junior Communication major and education minor. I took public speaking my sophomore Fall and really enjoyed the class, that is why I am now working in the speaking center. At Wake I am involved in WFU Style, Spoon University, Best Buddies, and I am a student advisor.

Alyssa Klier is a senior at Wake Forest University from New Jersey. She is majoring in Communication and has minors in Writing and Sociology. Alyssa has been tutoring on campus in the writing center since Fall 2018 and is excited to help students grow their public speaking confidence during her first year working in the speaking center this Fall. She plans to pursue a career in law in the future.

My name is Jess Schmidt and I am a sophomore at Wake. I am double majoring in Communication and Political Science, hoping to enter into public relations in government. I took Public Speaking my first semester freshman year and I enjoy public speaking so I wanted to help others in the Speaking Center. Besides the Speaking Center, I am involved in Student Government, Student Advising, the Peer Leader Program, and Tri Delta sorority.

Maddie Faria is a sophomore from Houston, TX. She is a Communications and Political Science double major at Wake and is a part of the a cappella group Minor Variation. At any given time, she is most likely at Dough Joe’s, her favorite coffee shop in Winston.

Meredith Happy is a junior at Wake Forest. She is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and is a Political Science major with minors in Communication and Journalism. She is obsessed with coffee, so you can always find her with a coffee in the Speaking Center!

Heran Zhang is a sophomore from Beijing, China. She is double majoring in Psychology and Communication with a minor in Film Studies. Heran love to watch and create films. She also loves working with people, especially in the Speaking Center!

Kalyn Epps is a senior from the Bay Area. She is a Communication major with a minor in Spanish. Kalyn is excited to continue her work in the Speaking Center where she can engage with public speaking and help her peers become more confident and capable orators!

Jenn Fabian is a senior from Minnesota. She is a Communication major with minors in Politics & International Affairs and Spanish. She has been tutoring in the Speaking Center since the spring of 2017 and "loves being able to empower public speaking students through Wake Speaks!

Zariah Hawthorne is a sophomore from Greenville, SC. She is majoring in Communication with a concentration in Integrated Strategies, and her minor is Statistics. A fun fact about Zariah is that she is a self-admitted "borderline shopaholic!"

Jillian Snyder is a junior from Atlanta, Georgia. She is a Communication major with a minor in Schools, Education, and Society (SES). This is her first year working in the Speaking Center. She is "looking forward to getting to know students and help them improve their public speaking skills!

Danielle Key is a senior from Mount Airy, NC. She is majoring in Communication and minoring in Studio Art. She is a member of the Wake Forest Concert Choir and has also tutored student-athletes. This is her third semester as a Speaking Center Consultant.
